Welcome to Penny & Dash!

My name is Jess, and Penny & Dash is my online diary where I like to share everything fashion, lifestyle, career, and NYC-related.

After graduating college, I moved to New York City, where I have been living for 3 years now. While those who live here can attest to the love-hate relationship that is living in the concrete jungle, I can honestly say that there is nowhere else like NYC in the entire world. The spaces are small, the people are crazy, and the drinks are expensive, but that hustle and bustle somehow all keeps me sane. Not to mention that I am just steps away from anything that my heart desires. I can find an oat milk latte on every other street, get an ice cream cone delivered, find authentic foods from any cuisine I can imagine (and it's as good as you can get without flying to that country), and there's never a shortage of things to do any day of the week. I get asked my friends, acquaintances, and internet strangers all the time what my recommendations are in the New York City, so why not just document it all in one place!

While I'm not out exploring the city that I live in and love, I am usually traveling either for leisure or for work. I am a supply chain consultant based on of New York, and can spend weeks at a time living out of my carry-on suitcase. Luckily, I've spent a lot of time abroad (30+ countries), so I thrive off of changing routines, meeting new people, and simply wandering. It's not always easy to find the mental balance, but somehow it all comes beautifully together.

Whether you're here for a dose of travel and fashion inspiration, words of wisdom on work-life balance, or to get your fix of NYC magic, thank you for visiting and for your support. I look forward to sharing what I love with you!

Love, Jess
