Flower Power

The United States Botanical Gardens is an oasis in Washington D.C. that is pretty much straight out of a fairytale. We had our hearts set on visiting the tulips that lined the outskirts of the Capitol Building, though morning showers diverted us to an indoor location. Luckily, our disappointment quickly faded when we arrived at the botanical gardens and were immediately overwhelmed by the beauty of the flowers and greenery. It was also a great escape from the brisk and rainy weather, so we appreciated the temporary shelter.

We wanted to mimic the ethereal vibe with our outfits, so we chose to keep things simple and feminine with sleeveless, white crop tops and skater skirts. Mel chose a blue linen striped skirt with pockets and paired the outfit with coral heels that adds a pop of color to her outfit. Jess wore a floral printed pastel skirt paired with nude peep-toe heels with mesh detailing. We kept it fun and whimsical for our midday exploration. A visit to the U.S. Botanical Gardens is a great addition for a D.C. adventure day, and we totally recommend stopping by to smell the roses (better yet, its free too!).
