Being in Georgetown always inspires us since M street is lined with shops, boutiques, and people who aren't afraid to dress up to shop or eat. It's such a unique part of Washington D.C. and a great place to hangout with your girlfriends or for a date night. Have a light, boozy brunch, then head over to Georgetown Cupcake or Baked and Wired for a sweet treat, and finish off with a stroll along the waterfront or even kayaking on the Potomac for the more adventurous type. It's always such a great time. We thought Georgetown would be the perfect backdrop for showing how to style our black jumpsuit and romper since fashion here ranges from casual Sunday brunch outfits to more sophisticated night time ensembles. We really love these versatile pieces because they are such a blank canvas and can easily be dressed up or down with just a few key accessories. Mel chose to go for a daytime look by draping her denim jacket over her shoulders and wearing a pair of her comfortable white sneakers. To add a little extra spice to her outfit, she chose a loud statement necklace weaved with blue, cream and black fabric. Perhaps even louder are her cat eye sunglasses, which are bold and one of her favorite accessories of all time. Jess, however, styled her jumpsuit more simply by adding a chunky, gold fan necklace and a floral cuff. There is already so much going on with the silhouette and ruffles of the piece that adding too much would take away from the jumpsuit itself. For shoes, she decided that classic black pumps were the best choice since she wanted the focus to be on the suit and the necklace. However, you could always throw on some bright colored heels or a clutch as your statement piece. Remember, black never goes out of style and basic doesn't have to be boring!
