Since we are both working in Manhattan now, we sometimes find it quite hard to step back from the hustle and bustle to find time to appreciate all that surrounds us. Born and raised in the suburbs of New Jersey, we often seek peace and solace when we have a stressful or busy week. Now that we are working full time, we truly cherish the limited free time we have. This past weekend, we spent a day in Brooklyn and explored Dumbo and Brooklyn Bridge Park. Brooklyn Bridge Park (Pier 1) is one of our favorite spots since it gives us a pretty breathtaking view of the Manhattan skyline, even on a cloudy and dreary day like the day we visited. We dropped by in the late morning and were pleasantly surprised how relatively empty it was, especially for a tourist-heavy area. Although we only stayed for a short time, it was nice to just look out into the water and be in the moment with our own thoughts. Of course we couldn't leave without snapping a few pictures!
Jess: This year, I've been wearing a lot more pink than I ever have in my entire life! I really love blush clothing, and this romper is right up my alley since it has delicate lace sleeves. A great pairing with blush is actually nude, so I added some accents like this small clutch/crossbody bag and my lace up pointed toe flats. This summer has been way too hot, so I often opt for a simple bun. I really love my hair up with this outfit since it shows off the beautiful lace across both sleeves and my décolleté.
Mel: A thing that you might not know about me is that the weather actually affects my mood a lot, at least more then it should. Normally on a dreary or rainy day, I stay in my apartment and spend the day catching up on my T.V. shows or spending some quality time with my boyfriend. However, since I have started working, I definitely value my free time a lot more and I feel more pressure to fully take advantage of the weekend! To help brighten up my mood, I wore a printed hot pink dress that I bought last year from Zara, and Jess's black wedge sandals. Dresses and rompers are my go to's during the summer time since it is just so easy to throw them on and I don't have to worry about piecing together a whole outfit. I am definitely trying to get in every opportunity to wear a dress before the leaves start changing colors and the temperatures start dropping!
