As we continue our Fall Feels series (read part 1 here), we really wanted to show you guys trending outfits that are wearable and inspired from the runway. We've never really thought of pairing pink and yellow together, but found some inspiration over the past couple of weeks and decided to give it a try. After putting together a few looks with this daring combo, we've come to absolutely love the mix of these two bold colors, and find it super easy to work into our everyday wardrobe!
We chose Princeton University as the backdrop for these outfits because it brings back memories of starting September on a college campus instead of working full-time now in the city. We have so many younger friends that have just began another year of stressful classes and exams, and we wish you guys the best of luck if you're still in school. One of our favorite things about going to back to school was wearing some of the new pieces we had collected and purchased over the summer. It's safe to say that we totally would sport these looks if we were going back to class this year!
When mixing yellow and pink, try pairing mustard with blush, or a brighter pink with muted yellow. Although this look may seem more fitting for the Spring season, given the floral details and colors, it is definitely trending for Fall right now. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
Mel: Mini skirts are my go-to transitional pieces for the fall and I love this blush pink corduroy one from Forever 21. I paired the skirt with a mustard mock turtleneck from Lord and Taylor and threw on my favorite crystal statement necklace to add a little bling to the look. My sister recently bought the Baby Sac de Jour bag from YSL and I could not help it, but take it out for a spin for the day! Jess: I've worn this maxi skirt many times since I bought it back in March. The loose, chiffon material makes it perfect for the ever changing weather here in the East Coast. I paired it with a ruffled, floral, cold-shoulder top, which shows a bit of skin since the whole outfit is pretty covered from head to toe. This yellow backpack is SO CUTE! It's pretty roomy inside, which is great for stashing all my everyday essentials. I chose nude ballet flat sandals since they're comfy, cute, and don't distract from all the many other component of the look.
