West Village is probably one of our favorite spots in the city since we absolutely love the charm of the neighborhood given its 19th-century townhouses and cobblestone streets. Our time in the city is usually spent around midtown and uptown where the overall feel is much more busy and modern. It's nice to escape and wander the streets of lower Manhattan for a change of pace sometimes. We often stroll up and down the residential streets of West Village and the neighboring area and dream about living the ultimate Gossip Girl life in one of these quaint little town homes. Although we have years of working ahead of us before we can even fathom actually living here, we never miss a photo opportunity when we do stop by!
Jess: My favorite color has always been pink, but oddly enough, I never really wear pink clothes, and I only have a few pieces on my closet of the hue. Baby pinks and blushes are easier to style than magentas and hot pinks, and is also an easier transition for those who want to wear pink but don't want to go super bold immediately. I paired this butterfly cut-out top with a pair of high waisted leather shorts to toughen the look a bit. I really love the look of pastels with black leather, and this combo could work with many different colors, not just pink! I added a blush statement necklace for a bit of extra dimension. My sandals are casual lace ups that's I've pretty much lived in this summer.
Mel: The thing that excites me most this upcoming fall season is the endless possibilities with layering. Now that today marks the official arrival of Fall, I jumpstarted my love for layering by throwing on a sleeveless waistcoat over my mock turtleneck. To keep my outfit light and airy, I stuck with a neutral palette for all of my pieces. The white skater skirt worked as the perfect base for the blue-grey turtleneck and my dusty pink vest. I finished this look off with a simple Y- necklace and my trusty Tory Burch flats to keep this outfit girly and polished!
