The Start of the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It is so hard to believe that Thanksgiving and the start of the holiday season is just 1 week away. With the Winter Village at Bryant Park bustling with locals and tourists, the Christmas tree going up at Rockefeller Plaza, and decorated department storefront windows all around, we are constantly reminded of the upcoming festivities. We are even more excited to take a much needed break from the 9-5 daily grind. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are what makes New York a little more bearable in the winter (hey, who doesn't love a White Christmas right?), and we absolutely love doing a little more shopping than usual to look our very best at those family reunion dinners. We kick off the beginning of the holiday season with a lookbook on what we would wear to our Thanksgiving dinner (albeit a more formal look, but you can never be too overdressed!) and were lucky enough to get offered these dresses from Dezzal.com.

We are always looking to discover new brands since we tend to get stuck shopping at our go to favorite stores (Zara, Banana Republic, Topshop, etc.) and were excited to experience shopping with Dezzal. To be honest, we usually tend to stay away from the Asian E-Commerce retailers since we always heard and read about nightmare experiences with the too good (cheap) to be true clothing items. As bloggers, we will always give our honest feedback and review when given products and with that being said we have broken down our review of Dezzal in the following components:

Ordering, Shipping, Packaging: Dezzal's online site is very user friendly and boasts a very minimalist, professional theme and feel to it. We had no problems with ordering our clothes and were impressed and surprised by how quickly the packages arrived considering they are shipped from Asia (took less than a week).

Condition Upon Arrival: The dresses arrived in your standard, frills-free, plastic packaging, but the items came in perfect condition, and we didn't find there to be any snags with the threading or embroidery of the pieces. Since these dresses are pretty extravagant and have 3-D elements to them, we were a bit concerned about the items arriving without any missing flowers, but we were surprisingly pleased at the great condition

Tip: If you're planning to purchase any items as gifts, we suggest you ship them to yourself first and then repackage them with some tissue paper and a gift box or bag.

Quality: In terms of quality, we believe that it varies depending on the exact item of clothing you order. Specifically, these two dresses photograph beautifully; however, when they are viewed up close, we were able to tell that the material and embroidery were not as luxurious as we expected when compared to the stock photos. Luckily, you have 30 days from the time you receive your package to make a return or get an exchange for items that don't live up to your expectations!

Sizing: We would suggest being cautious about sizing when ordering from Dezzal since some items tend to run very small. Luckily, we just fit into our dresses, which we ordered in the smallest sizes. We would order a size up from our personal experience, or we suggest reading the measurements on the site very carefully!

We couldn't be more excited for this holiday season and have some fun holiday posts coming up for you in December! As always, thank you so much for reading and supporting Penny & Dash, and we'll see you in our next post on Monday to talk about the hottest Black Friday deals and steals!

Love Always,

Jessica & Melissa
