An Unbe-leaf-able Season

With the 2016 Thanksgiving weekend over and holiday season in full swing, there are only 3 more weeks until the official end of Fall. However, it already feels like Winter here in New York City and we've been preparing for hibernation during the long winter months ahead. We've spent the last half of the year enjoying the beautiful weather by doing as many outdoor activities as possible, and soaked in enough sun to last us through the next season. To take advantage of the Fall foliage and tail end of Autumn weather, we spent the morning in Central Park, enjoying the crisp air and admiring the vivid shades of the leaves still left on the trees in the park. We've both spent a good amount of time in Central Park over the last couple of years, with friends and boyfriends, and our favorite times to stroll around are in the Summer and Fall. It's probably one of the best free forms of entertainment there is in this pricey city.

Jess: Every couple of months, I find myself attached to finding a particular article of clothing, and I go to great lengths to scope out the best quality and deal there is. This time around, I was on the hunt for the perfect faux fur vest after seeing dozens of inspiration pictures on Instagram and Pinterest. I was pretty close to buying a few different ones from Zara, Nordstrom, or H&M, but stopped in my tracks when I found this gem for $34.95 on Target. It's probably the best steal for how soft and durable it feels (I actually think it feels a bit like Penny, Mel's cat). I paired it with a warm cream turtleneck sweater from Zara, and a green wool skirt I bought from JCrew years ago during one of their sales. It was always a bit loose on me, but it fit perfectly when I had my thick sweater tucked in. I also had a boots phase a while back, and I was on the search for the perfect over the knee boot that resembled the Stuart Weitzman ones that the fashion and shoe lovers are obsessed with. I found this awesome pair at DSW for a fraction of the cost at less than $70, and they are perfectly snug and comfy for long walks in the park!

Mel: I bought these pants back in Vienna when I visited this summer (read our posts here), and although they are meant to be worn during the warmer months (the material is quite thin), I broke them out again one last time before the arrival of winter. Of course the last time I wore these, I paired them with a black crop top (worn here). Since it is a little too cold to showcase my stomach here on the East Coast in the end of November, I decided to forgo the crop top and bundled up in a basic white turtleneck instead. Solid colored turtlenecks are essential basics to have in your closet, since they can be worn individually or used to be layered with! My rather simple sweater keeps the attention focused on the striped pants, and a forest green scarf was all I needed for that pop of color in my neutral look!
