Holiday Lookbook: Merry Christmas!

Although we both really love getting dressed to the 9's with a full face of glam on and some jaw-dropping, eye-catching heels, we will be spending Christmas day with our respective families, stuffing our faces full with the most delicious meals and relaxing on our coaches with Penny and Dasher. Our outfits for the day will need to be casual, comfortable and of course, festive! The last of our 4 holiday lookbooks (check out "Hollywood Holiday Glam", "The Corporate Party", and"Lotte Palace"), is a casual one, where we mix and match dressier pieces and accessories with comfy items from our closets.

Since we will be spending Christmas back in New Jersey, we took P&D to our local Christmas tree farm, and went all out to showcase our festive spirit. We've been blogging about the holidays for so long now that we feel an eternal sense of holiday cheer :)

Jess: I've always been a a big fan of skater skirts and dresses, but I rarely get to wear them now that most of my time is spent wearing business casual for work days and lounging in more comfortable winter gear on the weekends. I took this opportunity to break out my green satin dress again (ok, it's actually Melissa's but she gave it to me a long time ago) since I love its deep, jewel-tone and find it very appropriate for Christmas festivities. Although you cannot tell from the pictures, it is actually a sleeveless dress, and I layered a black and white fringe tank over it for a bit of extra warmth. The cape jacket I am wearing is perhaps one of my favorite jackets of all-time, since it has the ability to transform any outfit into something a bit more fancy and eye-catching. I chose my favorite pair of black knee-high boots, and added my rhinestone headband for that extra holiday sparkle.

Mel: I spent the past week celebrating the nights away in my holiday dresses from attending my company's holiday party, to having a themed Christmas brunch with some of my best girlfriends. But when it comes to December 25th, I will be wearing the next best thing after pajamas - a cozy sweater and my favorite old pair of jeans. The black sweater I am sporting is not your typical ugly christmas sweater; in fact, it is absolutely unique and is actually dubbed as the most popular sweater from Anthropologie this season. Although it may look like a basic black pullover from afar, it actually has a very unique and flattering fit since the sleeves have a balloon-like effect.. It is extremely loose on the arms but does have a fitted cuff to tie it back, and also has a squarish neckline. Preferably, I would love to pair this top with high-waisted boyfriend or mom jeans, but since mine all shrunk in the wash, I opted for normal waisted jeans with a western style belt and knee-high riding boots.

We are so excited for this weekend, and looking forward to our next mini-break before 2017 comes in full swing. We will be doing a Q&A next week, so please leave us with any burning questions you may have for us in the comments below or send them over to our email, pennyanddash@gmail.com!

Have a fabulous holiday season everyone!

Love Always, Jessica and Melissa
