Happy 4th of July!

4th of July is one of our absolute favorite holidays, after Christmas and Thanksgiving of course (only because those two holidays involve more food!). While the winter celebrations are reserved more for family, Independence Day is spent with close friends and beaus by going on road trips or firing up the grill for some delicious barbecue. Though we have spent a few July 4th's together in the past, this year we are nearly 2500 miles apart with Jess exploring the San Francisco and Mel staying put in the great Big Apple. Of course, wherever we might be, we will definitely both be rocking our patriotic red, white, and blue attire!

Jess: I spent my last July 4th in Vancouver, where I actually got to experience Canada Day for the first time while visiting some close friends from abroad! It was actually my first time spending the holiday outside of the US, which made me a bit sad since I usually head down to the shore with my friends to watch the fireworks or hang out out home with the fam and Dasher. This time around, I decided to spend the holiday out in San Francisco and to visit a few friends and see some of the city since I've never been there before! I love spending the Fourth of July surrounded by people I love, and this one was no exception. Watch out for my full SF post soon :)

I've never been one to go crazy with my outfits for this holiday, but I do enjoy showing off some spirit by sporting red white and blue in my outfits when I can! This strapless jumpsuit from Urban Outfitters has to be one of the most comfortable that I've worn, since it's so loose and breathable for those warm summer days under the sun (and for those food babies!) The subtle blue pinstripes are the perfect accent to the soft red canvas, and I adore this piece for Fourth of July or honestly any casual summer event!

Mel: One thing I realized during my move from Manhattan to Brooklyn was exactly just how much clothing I own. It is crazy to think that my Summer/Spring wardrobe alone is able to fill up over 3 boxes and 2 full suitcases, so lately I have been trying to adopt a more minimalist mindset and trying to restyle the pieces I already own and love. I picked up this romper from Forever 21 last summer for my trip to Santorini and immediately fell in love with the blue floral print and the bell sleeves. The thin, light fabric of this long sleeve romper makes it wearable in the summer and is honestly one of the most complimented piece of clothing I own!

This year will be my first 4th of July celebration in the city and I look forward to spending the day cheering on the hot dog competition in Coney Island and ending the night watching the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.

Let us know in the comments what your plans are for 4th of July and thank you always for reading!

Love Always,

Jess & Mel
