Penny & Dash X LOFT

Autumn is right around the corner, which signals the beginning of a season full of pumpkin spice lattes and cozy office wear! LOFT just launched their new Fall collection just a mere two weeks ago, and we had the opportunity to browse and pick out some of our favorite pieces on our shopping trip. We spent a day taking over LOFT's Instagram story to show what we typically do on a summer weekend when we are hanging out and shooting for Penny & Dash blog posts. Having the opportunity to partner up with a brand that we love and have been shopping at ever since we entered the working world is definitely going down in 2017's highlights! It was such a fun and memorable experience piecing together outfits for both casual and corporate wear with the new arrivals, and we're so happy you guys were able to check out our story. Thank you so much for all the comments and questions on our outfits and we look forward to doing more of these stories in the future on our own Instagram.

Jess: LOFT is often one of the places I like to stop by for business casual clothes, and when I was browsing for a cool corporate look, I was immediately drawn to a beautiful blue suede skirt that I knew I could keep as an item in my capsule wardrobe this season. Since it's still a bit warm this month, I chose to pair it with a ruffled sleeve blouse that I picked up from Express, and my go-to bone booties. For cooler days, I could easily style the look the same way but add a pair of tights for extra warmth. The skirt is so versatile, I could also opt for a simpler top and drape a cardigan or blazer over!

Mel: I do make an effort to step outside the business casual uniform of pencil skirts and blouses and one of my colleagues the other week actually mentioned how he noticed my outfits to work aren't "basic." Typically, I like to balance a relatively simple top with a more fun skirt to add a little sparkle to my look and this outfit that I pulled for our LOFT's Instagram Story is certainly no exception. I was immediately drawn to this LOFT sweater because 1) it looked (and is) cozy as hell and 2) who can ever say no to those varying stripes? I love how this sweater incorporates multiple fall appropriate colors, making it very easy to style in many different ways. For a more professional environment, this sweater can easily be paired with a pair of navy/ gray trousers or a camel pencil skirt. However, since my company is more relaxed, I fully took advantage of its' dress code and tucked the sweater under a dusty rose satin skirt with ruffle detailing. The added ruffle definitely makes the entire look a lot dressier, but since the color of my skirt is a muted pink shade, it complements instead of overpowers my sweater perfectly!
