Sunday in Williamsburg: Black with a Pop of Red

I lived in the East Village off the 1st Avenue L stop for 6 months last year, and I absolutely loved my time exploring the neighborhood. WIlliamsburg (Bedford Ave) was always only 1 stop away, but for whatever reason, I just always stayed on one side of town and didn't venture too far out of Manhattan unless it was to Brooklyn in a different direction. As I've mentioned before in other posts, sometimes the best weekends are actually the unplanned, spontaneous ones! I was taking a blog writing break and want to go out and get some fresh air since it was so sunny and crisp outside. Sometimes the best cure for a headache or the blues is just to walk outside and breathe. It was fun walking around Bedford Ave, walking along the water and snapping pics of the beautiful NYC skyline from the other side of the East River, and browsing the boutiques and shops. The brunch scene here is definitely just as busy as it is in Manhattan so I would recommend coming early to get a seat if brunch is part of your Williamsburg itinerary.

You can never really go wrong with an all black outfit, so i just pulled together some of the black pieces I had lying around, added a black felt hat, and wore my red booties for that easy pop of color. My favorite thing about this whole outfit is actually the sweatshirt I layered under my blazer! I bought it in Milan after my friend Olivia and I left the 2015 World Expo. I actually started blogging during my semester abroad on a different platform, so I'd love if you checked out my Milano post here!). Don't forget some big shades to block out that sun! I never used to be a big sunglasses gal but I've definitely been consciously reaching for them more when I walk out the door. Nothing like some big sunnies to covered up tired eyes :)
