Montmartre is one of Paris' most unique neighborhoods, with a vibe and energy unlike anywhere else in the city. With its cobblestone streets, picturesque corners, and charming restaurants, it certainly is the place for wandering lovers. Montmartre is actually large hill in the 18th arrondissement, and the views from 130m (430 ft.) above are quite impressive. One of the best views and main attractions here is the Sacré-Cœur, the famous white-domed Basilica on its summit. Make sure to also check out the Moulin Rouge, great nightlife, and check out some of the best eats in the area.
During my first visit to Paris in December 2015, I actually stayed in Montmartre and did a private walking tour of the neighborhood with my friends. We walked all over Montmartre, leaning about its rich art history and architectural background. Unsurprisingly, I was also most excited to come back here and reminisce! I spent my last beautiful morning in Paris walking around Montmartre, enjoying breakfast at a quiet (and gorgeous) cafe, before heading back home to pack up and head back to New York.
Until next time Paris, XOXO
