Last year, I had a chance to go to Milan for a weekend, and people watched outside the Duomo while eating Nutella gelato. It was so fun to observe what people wore because Milan is one of the fashion capitals of the world. I was so excited to get to come back to Italy, not only for the food, but for the fashion. For my time in Naples, I wanted to dress comfortably, but still elegantly, so I decided to wear a bell sleeve crop top with lace detailing on the chest, paired with a structured bell skirt. I felt like an old soul walking through the historic city, and I wanted my outfit to mimic the regal vibe.
Naples was also our home base for our visit to the Almalfi Coast, and we had a full day to explore as much as this city has to offer (read about Positano here). Our Naples day also happened to be Italy’s Republic Day, so many places were closed for the celebration of the holiday. However, we still got to see a lot as we wandered around the city, exploring different neighborhoods on our search for local markets.
One of my favorite things about Naples was the food. Since it was my first time back in Italy in 6 months, I was more than excited to spend my days stuffing my face with pizza, pasta, gelato, tiramisu, and Italian coffee. On our way to see some of Naples famous sites, we stopped by Antica Pizzeria Da Michele, which was featured in the movie Eat, Pray, Love with Julia Roberts. The line for the restaurant was massive for dining in, but luckily only 10 minutes for take out. While the options on the menu were limited (margherita or marinara), the simplicity of the flavors were amazing, and I can honestly say that this was the most delicious pizza I have ever had in my life. Because we had a busy day, we decided to take the pizza to-go, and found a flight of stairs along the side of the street for our frills-free pizza experience.
