To properly close out our 2016 Fall Feels Series (read Part 1: Sleeves Revival and Part 2: Pink & Yellow), we have saved the most glamorous as well as our favorite look for last. This season, you can expect to feel some vintage vibes and see pieces influenced by the Renaissance Era to be hitting the streets.
Jess: Oxblood is one of our favorite colors of the season, and this midi skirt is such an key piece for my wardrobe this Autumn. When I think of Renaissance fashion, I often imagine very full skirts and dresses with dramatic pleats and extravagant details like ruffles and collars. The thick, perforated material of this skirt keeps me warm and adds texture to the outfit. I chose this beautiful, high-neck top because I love the antique, paisley print and royal blue color. It's the perfect blend of old meets new, and I just adore how it looks tucked into this skirt. I did a twisted chignon to keep all of my hair out of my face and to balance out my very full outfit.
Mel: I spotted this dress at Macy's and immediately fell in love with the combination of the lace and the tiered ruffled skirt. My outfit is not nearly as covered up as Jess's look, but the mock turtleneck and the long sleeves do balance out the dress' short length. To edge up this look a bit, I chose to forgo a pair of pumps and instead dusted off my favorite blue-gray velvet booties from Zara. I definitely recommend investing in a pair of velvet shoes this season since it is a huge trend right now and they can dress up any outfit!
We hope you enjoyed our trend series! Let us know what trend is your favorite for the season in the comments below :)
