Hollywood Holiday Glam

December 5, 2016

Congratulations everyone because we have almost made it through 2016! December is one of our favorite months since it's full of holiday festivities and bright lights in New York City, and the chance of having a white Christmas is one of the only reasons why we haven't moved to California yet. Well that and the fact that both of our jobs are here (haha). You can feel the Christmas spirit all month long now that shops have finally decorated their holiday windows and the ice rink is re-opened at Rockefeller Center alongside the beautifully lit tree. As much as we hate to say it, we are totally addicted to it all! This month is going to be packed with an overload of shopping, eating, and going to parties weekend after weekend with friends and family. What better way to ring in the new year than by looking extra fab in December? We took a glamorous approach for the first of four holiday posts this month, and we couldn't think of a better place to do it then at the heart of the shopping district in Manhattan. This photo shoot has been one in the works for some time now, and we had always envisioned Cartier as the perfect backdrop to our festive ensembles. Of course, we were able to make it all come to life with the little help of our photographer, Joan Michel (find her details below!).

These looks are definitely ones to break out for your fancier holiday parties, and all eyes will undoubtedly be on you!

Jess: One of my favorite things to wear this year are loose fitting trousers because they are not only super comfy, but can also be styled both professionally and casually. Who says you can't hit up a holiday party without feeling like you're still chilling in your pajama bottoms? This gold number from Topshop is such a showstopper, and is easily the perfect statement piece for a night out. I never really strayed away from dresses and skirts when it came to choosing an outfit for fancier parties and events, so pairing a one-shoulder body suit with trousers was definitely new for me. I added a pearl choker and simple, black velvet choker for a hint of sophistication, a gorgeous pair of rhinestone earrings for a touch of sparkle, and a cute pair of mesh peep-toe heels that I can dance all night in.

Mel: On an everyday basis,

I usually stick to neutrals and am not one who goes crazy over sparkles and bling. That being said, I always make an exception during the holiday season where my wardrobe for the month of December is mainly composed of plaid, faux fur, and of course a years' worth of sparkles! For this over the top, hollywood glam look, I chose a gorgeous cold-shoulder sparkly grey dress from Topshop and layered a faux fur scarf on top to add that extra touch of glam and "old Hollywood" into the outfit, and to keep me nice and toasty (which is definitely a priority if you live on the East Coast). I finished my look off with a rose gold metallic bow clutch and some eye-catching navy blue heels.
