Countless renditions of how to start this post have filtered through my mind for the past month now, but sometimes those neatly wrapped thoughts in my head just don't translate as perfectly when it comes time to sit and write it all down. The last few weeks have definitely been a time of reflection for me, especially since I will be taking over Penny & Dash by myself going forward and there are a million and one things that I need and want to do to begin sharing content here with you guys! If you haven't read Mel's letter about her decision to leave the blog, you can find it our last post together. P&D has been the biggest labor of love for both of us for almost the past two years, and though there will be some changes going forward, I am excited to continue the blogging journey solo and keep sharing bits and pieces of life, my loves, and my passions.
I chose my 24th birthday to "relaunch" the blog because it marks a milestone in my life that almost feels a little bit like a rebirth. New year, new age, and of course, new content! I have always been a big fan of using social platforms a safe haven to house my thoughts and use as a creative outlet. I used to bring a small digital camera around with me everywhere back in high school and I would record random videos about what I loved, my dog Dasher, my friends, and basically whatever I felt like recording at the time. When I studied abroad in Vienna, I made a Wordpress account so I could share all of my adventures with friends and family back home to make sure they knew that I was safe and having a great time exploring new places and making new friends. Penny and Dash was only a natural extension of my love for sharing and creating, and I love that it is simply another way to have a voice when sometimes I can feel so lost just trying to navigate the ups and downs of everyday life.
Going forward, I'm really looking forward to sharing more organic and personal content on Penny & Dash ranging from my career to my upcoming travels. There are so many exciting trips and plans coming up this year already, and this is only the beginning. Thank you so much for all your love and support - it means the world to me. I can't wait for you to follow along.
Thank you so much for those who came out to celebrate my birthday with me this weekend and to everyone who sent their wishes. I have such amazing, thoughtful, and beautiful friends and my heart is very full. I love you guys so, so much. I'm excited to see what 24 brings!
